General Graduation Requirements

While you may have completed all the units towards your degree or certificate, you must still formally apply to receive it and have it credited to your Viking Student Account. The following instructions will walk you through the steps needed to apply for your degree through the Viking Student System.

Application Timeline

To ensure a smooth graduation process, it is highly recommended that students apply for graduation one to two terms prior to their expected graduation term. This allows ample time for the college to process the application and address any outstanding requirements. Students must be admitted to the college in order to graduate. The awarding of a credential (degree/certificate) becomes official only when graduation information has been processed and approved by the college.

Important Dates

Students should refer to the schedule of classes, the college catalog, or the LBCC website for the actual deadline for each semester. Some divisions and departments may award certificates of accomplishment or completion at the division or department office. Interested students should consult the appropriate department head for details. Each year, the LBCC Catalog is updated with the most current information including graduation and course requirements.
